Nutrition and fitness programs for individuals and groups

Peterson Nutrition & Fitness of Richmond, VA was founded in 2001 and is the private practice of Elisabeth Peterson, RD, CEDRD. Peterson Nutrition & Fitness exists to educate and empower each individual to effect lifestyle changes toward optimal wellness through balance, comprehension and application of the complex nutritional and activity requirements of the body.

Grounded in current dietetic science and research, Elisabeth has incorporated non-diet concepts, mindful eating, body acceptance, and the use of story and metaphor with individuals, families and couples to facilitate client progress towards normalized eating internationally for over 20 years.

Elisabeth co-founded Light of the Moon Café. She has facilitated Eating in the Light of the Moon groups and Wise Women groups based on Dr. Anita Johnston’s work in Richmond, Virginia for over 10 years. Elisabeth, an iaedp certified eating disorder registered dietitian, supervises RD’s internationally for iaedp certification and is on the Certification Committee for iaedp.

Eating in the Light of the Moon Group

Join us for the next book discussion and activity group based on Anita’s Johnston’s book Eating in the Light of the Moon. This group is for any woman who is ready to transform their relationship with food.

My Services

Through individual or group counseling (in person, over the phone, Skype, and online), Peterson Nutrition & Fitness provides nutritional and overall wellness support for a broad range of clientele—from children to those in later years and from competitive athletes to those coping with a variety of food allergies, disorders, and diseases.

Online Group/Course

Light of the Moon Café, an online e-course/support circle for women seeking freedom from struggles with eating and weight issues. Imagine being steeped for 8 weeks in the warmth of a circle of women: combining stories, mixing in art & music, and adding journaling & discussion to find hope & healing from struggles with eating.
