Caitlyn's Success Story
Working with Elisabeth over the last 2.5 years has been an amazing journey of growth. After deciding I wanted to work towards my CEDS certification, I talked with several potential supervisors and Elisabeth definitely stood out- she not only has a wealth of professional experience as both a dietitian and a dietitian in the eating disorders field, but also has a wicked sense of humor and cares about her supervisees not only professionally but also personally. She took time to get to know all facets of me- something which many supervisors might not do. She was, and continues to be, a source of mentorship and guidance as well as CONSTANT encouragement. Even though I started the certification as a relatively new RDN (only about 6 months out of my internship), she did not try to dissuade me from pursuing the credential and instead worked with me to capitalize on my years of pre-RD personal and professional passion for the field and helped me channel this into several amazing work and volunteer opportunities. She took the time to walk me through every aspect of the CEDS application- from the case study to how to format my resume for long term success and continues to keep in touch after I’ve obtained the CEDS, as a colleague and a friend. Without Elisabeth as my supervisor, I would not have the confidence in myself that I have as both a newer RDN and as a new CEDS.
