Many people of all ages suffer an abnormal immune response to an otherwise harmless food protein. Proper diagnosis and management requires a team approach. Elisabeth will make recommendations for team members on request. Congratulations for taking the important first step of reaching out for professional help. If you suffer from food allergies, Elisabeth will be happy to work with you to discover what you can eat and where to find it!

Purpose of Nutrition Care:

  • Prevent adverse reactions to foods in patients with identified food hypersensitivity
  • To achieve and maintain a nutritionally adequate diet despite limitations of the dietary restrictions
  • Strengthen immune systems

Elisabeth will help you do this by:

  • Teaching you ways to eat balanced to ensure that your nutritional needs are met.
  • Assisting your understanding of the pathophysiology and development of food hypersensitivities.
  • Increasing your awareness of alternative sources of specific nutrients and/or substitutes in cooking.
  • Guiding and teaching you about the food industry related to preparation, packaging an labeling of foods.
  • Teaching you about the elimination diet, food challenges and rotation diets.
  • Collaborating with your team to coordinate care.

Several visits are recommended until symptoms have subsided and demonstration of adequate knowledge and skill in selecting appropriate foods and adherence to treatment plan is observed.
